Introductionbetfair The introduction of the betting exchange markets was really a revolution in the betting world. The players have gained more weapons in their unfair war against the bookmakers. As we have explained in the Margin article, the bookmakers always end up winning just because of the existence of margin. What would happen though if there were no bookmakers to act as middlemen and therefore no margin? The answer to this question comes with the advent of the betting exchange markets where the players can offer and buy odds without the margin existence.

The first and most famous betting exchange market company is Betfair. It is worth mentioning that as soon as the betting exchange market companies started operating, all the bookmakers reacted by arguing that these exchange companies are illegal; the courts of justice didn’t of course consider this argument valid. This is why many bookmakers have decided to offer betting exchange markets within their website besides the traditional betting options.
Betfair Betfair was founded in 1999 from Andrew Black who came up with the idea of creating an internet place where betting players all around the world could buy and sell odds without the bookmakers acting as middlemen. In 2003, Betfair was awarded with ‘The Queen’s award’ from the Queen of England. In Betfair you can find odds for all kinds of sports and even sociopolitical events much before the odds from the traditional bookmakers come out. Every single exchange is totally secure (like in every well known bookmaker) assisted by an excellent call center.
